Those who know me personally are well aware that I am an apolitical person.

But you needn’t be a political expert to be able to recognise a true, genuine gentleman like president Obama.

During Barack Obama’s rally speech in North Carolina, a sole pro-Trump protester in a sea of Democrats interrupted him. What did POTUS do? He calmly and professionally handled the situation, urging everyone to “sit down and be quiet for a second”. He even scolded the crowd as they were booing the protester.

The president then proceeded to say: “You’ve got an older gentleman who is supporting his candidate. He’s not doing nothing. You don’t have to worry about him. First of all—hold up—we live in a country that respects free speech. Second of all, it looks like maybe he might have served in our military and we gotta respect that. Third of all, he was elderly and we gotta respect our elders,” Obama said. “And fourth of all, don’t boo. Vote.”

Point made without making the situation more tense, and without the need to shout or utter expletives at people. As cool as a cucumber, and still got his message across, at the same time.

You are truly inspirational, Mr. Obama. A person who leads by example.
